Memorial Day Fun

We spent the holiday weekend in good 'ol GH County. We weren't able to decorate the graves Sat. morning but did help collect them Monday afternoon.

Looking at her reflection in the bumper.

We have quite the little baker on our hands. He inquired about the noise from Grandma's mixer and wanted to help make the cake. He was good at cracking eggs!

Sampling the ice cream.

A Glimpse Into Our Daily Fun

I know it's hard to believe but somedays it's hard to find things to do around here, especially if the weather is bad.

The kids are really good at entertaining themselves, or each other, when I'm either cleaning up lunch or completing some other innane household task.

Here's one example of how we spend our afternoons.

 BOO!

She thought it was hilarious when he licked her.

Surprise! It's a castle. The pictures are a little out of order. I made one for him, and he got upset when she tried to use his blanket to cover her head. So I had to make one in her room.

She was giggling the whole time.

What's Up in May

I've been away from this blog for WAY too long and I apologize. I'm going to try and be better about posting.

I'm not going to try and make up for lost time; I'm just going to jump in to the present.

We did a little painting for Mother's Day. Ainsley was content to color w/ a marker, at first, then once she saw the paint, she started whining. Paint was too messy for her, it became nap time.

One of the places we like to go is The Exploration Place. Here is Ainsley w/ her friend Claire.

Carsen is planting some vegetables and the girls are raking the carpet.

Carsen's preschool Spring program. They were so cute!

Carsen w/ his teacher and class.

We spent the Saturday of Mother's Day weekend at Rolling Hills Zoo in Salina.

Carsen's last day of Preschool! (He still has another year of preschool before kindergarten.)

Nom, Nom, Nom

This girl's nickname is Miss Piggy! She will eat anything and can really shovel it in! She gets upset if the food doesn't come fast enough and tries to grab anything she can get her hands on which most of the time includes mom and dad's plates/food. She's also started trying to feed the person sitting next to her, holding out her grubby little hand w/ whatever piece of food she's been eating. These pictures are a little older but they capture her BIG appetite!

Chowing on a cracker. She didn't last long in the Bumbo seat. She kept leaning so far over and would use her feet to move it along the table.

Carsen always wants a cracker too.

Picnic in the Park

2 posts in one day! My readers are lucky tonight! I have so many blog posts and the kids are growing so fast that I need to be quick about posting. Of course, my routine is so unpredictable these days I never know when I will have time to write.

On an unseasonably warm February Sunday, we packed up our picnic basket and headed to the park. Carsen needed to run off some energy (hoping to guarantee a nap later) and it seemed like a fun family outing.

Miss Busy Body

These pictures were taken a few months ago but her activity has not changed. She is just as grabby and curious as ever. She's better at picking things up no matter how big they are although when eating, she often picks up a handful of pasta, eggs, etc. and tries to shove it all in her mouth. Most of it lands in her lap than in her mouth. She's pulling up on the furniture and loves to mess w/ her brother's toys. Of course, this means he collapses into a fit of whining. Then whenever he wants a toy of her's, he just takes it and claims to be "sharing." I can't help but smile.

Carsen's 3!!!

In February we celebrated Carsen's 3rd birthday. It's hard to believe he's already 3! He talks non-stop, asks a million questions, very inquisitive, loves dinosaurs, trains, and cars. He likes to be outdoors and is slowly becoming more interested in his bike/trike. He is a great big brother to Ainsley and can be very helpful to his mom.

His Dinosaur Train birthday cake.

It snowed on us most of the way home. Carsen's 1st snowman!

His Buddy size balloon.
